In Milton, within Milton Cemetery, is this monument for Canton's firefighters.
The cemetery is located of Centre Street. The west entrance (open at the time), is 100 ft east of the intersection of Centre St. and Randolph Avenue. The monument is roughly in the middle of the cemetery, in a island in a low area where several cemetery roads come together. There is a flagpole at this intersection.
The fireman's monument is located to the right of the flagpole when facing the monument. The police monument is to the left.
The monument is a stone, roughly three feet high and four feet wide. On one side is a bronze plaque, iwhth the following text:
"Dedicated to the
Glory of God
and in Loving Memory of
All Men Who Have At Any Time
Served as Members of the
Milton Fire Department
'In the call of duty they did not falter
And in the hour of death they knew no fear'
Milton Firemen's Relief . . .
1928"
