The monumet located in front of a parish office and next to St Martin's Church in Pteni was erected after WW I from the contributions of local citizens. It was dedicated to 38 victims of WW I from the village Ptení and the close settlement Holubice. After WW II 9 other names were added to the monument. It was the victims tortured to death during Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia and WW II (1938-1945). On the top of the monument's pedestal there is a statue of a young woman holding a national flag with a dove sitting on the flag. Next to her there is a lion, a Czech heraldic animal.
