The ball and light on top of Needville's old water tower -- located at the corner of Main St and Richmond St in the small city of Needville, Texas -- is an NGS benchmark ("AW6879")

As described by the CGS in 1952:
"THE STATION IS LOCATED NEAR THE CENTER AND 1 BLOCK EAST OF THE MAIN STREET IN NEEDVILLE. IT IS A 4 LEGGED STEEL STRUCTURE SUPPORTING THE TANK PROPER AND THE TANK HAS A CONICAL SHAPED ROOF WITH A BALL AND RED LIGHT AT ITS TOP. THE OVERALL HEIGHT IS ABOUT 135 FEET. THE BALL AND LIGHT AT THE APEX OF THE TANK ROOF WAS OBSERVED."
The CGS description -- including overall shape and height -- is still correct, and so is it steet reference (although Main St. is also known as "FM 360"). The benchmark in question -- the ball and light on top of the tank roof are also still there.
The NGS' currently posted coordinates ("N 29 24 01.01971 W 095 50 16.93913", or "N 29° 24.017 W 095° 50.282") were in line with my observations while on site.
The station was recovered in good condition.
