SS#9 Badenoch School is now the Badenoch Community Centre. The school was built in 1899 which probably puts it as one of the "youngest" one-room school houses out there.
Like many older buildings in this area, the school features a limestone exterior. Inside there is one large room and (currently) a smaller kitchen area, and two washrooms. There is also a basement to this one room school house.
This was the third building to serve as the SS#9 Badenoch School. A log schoolhouse. built in 1843, was the first schoolhouse. It was later replaced with a wood-frame building in 1850, which in turn was replaced with the current building in 1899.
The school was closed in December of 1964. It was soon after converted to a community centre.
