More from "Reidy - Chicago Sculpture. 1981"
"The tracery's theme is the genius, virtue and weakness of man as suggested by pictorial references to several of Aesop's celebrated tales. Thirteen fables were chosen by the newspaper's editor Colonel Robert R. McCormick, and sculptor Chambellan made his own waggish additions.

The figures included in the screen are the following Aesop fable characters - Left side: Crow and Snake, Rooster, Cat, Eagle, Fox with Grapes, Crow with Pitcher, Bear with Beehives; Right side: Partridge, Peacock, Porcupine, Crow, Boar, Heron, Ape. The figure of a soldier at the top of each section is intended to commemorate men who fought in WW1. Other figures appear to be caricatures of persons responsible for the building's construction (like Zeus with a thunderbolt for Colonel McCormick.)

Among Chambellan's numerous other sculptural works re his designs to be seen at Northwestern, Yale and Cornell Universities and at the Rockefeller Center in New York City."

I extracted the Crow and Snake, Soldiers, and Zeus for your viewing pleasure!
