This "Gates of Heaven" headstone has a log on top, with this inscription below:
Geo. W. Husband of
Evangie Caffey
Born Jan. 9, 1876
Died Feb. 23, 1906
Mineral Wells Camp No. 703
A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is still,
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
--
This is interesting, as Mineral Wells is over 120 miles from here. Also notable is a famous burial nearby: Max Causey, who was the jury foreman in the trial that convicted Jack Ruby of murdering Lee Harvey Oswald, is buried just a few feet away. Look for "Causey" on the fence and you'll find him.
Was the inscription legible?: Yes
