Tony Harrison was (until his death) a 'driving force' in getting the abandoned railway line converted to a Rail Trail.
His name is mentioned in the minutes of the "Friends of East Gippsland Rail Trail Inc." meeting of 2004: (

The cast bronze plaque is affixed to small boulder next some bollards to make sure that only pedestrians, cyclists or horse riders use the Rail Trail. It reads:
"This section of riverside path was initiated by the late Tony Harrison who, until his death in 2006, championed a vision that one day the path would continue all the way to the township of Marlo."
An excerpt from "Wild Coast" [East Gippsland of Victoria]: (

"Update: Transport
Sadly Tony Harrison of Orbost passed away in 2006. Tony was a great ambassador for the eco-tourism potential of the Wilderness Coast. Fortunately, Snowy River Bus Lines continues to offer a good service to groups beginning or finishing their walks near Orbost. (PH: 0351541628)"
