The Santa Fe Railway Freight Depot is a two-part, brick building arranged in an elongated rectangular plan on a north-south axis. It rests on a stuccoed brick foundation with a flat built-up roof. South Austin Street runs along the eastern side of the building; a railroad spur along the westem side.
The 2-story southernmost section serves as the headquarters and office. Raised letters found below the stone parapet on the south facade read "Santa Fe Freight Depot." An even fenestration of l/l double-hung wooden windows with stone sills highlights each floor of each facade. A single wooden door behind a stairway parapet provides access to the business office on the south facade.
