As described by the CGS in 1954 (although already monumented in 1934):
"AT JEFFERSON, 2.9 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE NORTH CORNER OF THE COURTHOUSE, 30.5 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE SOUTHEAST CURB OF WEST AUSTIN STREET, 28 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST CURB OF SOUTH POLK STREET, 2.2 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND, SET VERTICALLY IN THE NORTHEAST WALL OF THE COURTHOUSE."
The CGS description is still accurate, and so are its distance estimates. The benchmark can be found at the North corner of the Marion County courthouse (which is located at the intersection of S Polk St. and and W Austin St), on the East side of that building's corner, set vertically just a few feet away from the courthouse's cornerstone.
The NGS' currently posted coordinates ("N 32 45 23.7 W 094 20 39.4", or "N 32° 45.395 W 94° 20.657") were reasonably in line with my observations: my measurements came out to "N 32° 45.394 W 94° 20.656", as measured within 10' accuracy and 10+ reading averages.
The station was recovered in good condition.
