The Spitfire is, along with its sister Hurricane YO-C, mounted in Jackson Park in Windsor's north end.

It is a Spitfire Mark VIII, number JG184, call sign AN-A, flown by Flying Officer Bert Houle of Windsor during the Second World War. Houle would eventually become the Commanding Officer of 417 (City of Windsor) Squadron. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Bar for his actions with the Squadron, primarily during the Italian campaign. The original JG184 served with 417 Sqn in North Africa and Italy. It was struck off strength in 1944.

The Preservation Committee opted to mount a fibreglass replica instead of an original frame due to weather concerns. It was felt that the replica would better be able to withstand the rigours of the seasons.

It was dedicated during a ceremony in 2006, and rededicated in 2016.
