The parish church of St Cross was built in 1892 at the expense of the Penrhyn Estate. The land on which the church is built was given for the purpose by George Sholto Gordon Douglas-Pennant, second Baron Penrhyn.
The church sits in a quiet area not far from the main village of Tal-y-bont and has a well maintained cemetery. The church is still in use as a place of worship.
There are two bells in the bellcote which are easily visible from ground level.
