Located .25mi from the terminus of the 5-mile Texas City Dike (in Texas City, Texas), the light atop this marine navigational range marker is an NGS benchmark ("AW5912").

As described by the CGS back in 1963 (when it was first observed):
"LOCATED NEAR THE SOUTHEAST END AND ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE TEXAS CITY DIKE. LIGHT ATOP A RED, SQUARE DARMARK ON SKELETON STEEL TOWER, ABOUT 50 FEET HIGH, ON PLATFORM ON PILES. THE LIGHT WAS OBSERVED ON. NO 7634 IN 1962 LIGHT LIST."
The CGS description is still reasonably accurate and should definitely assist future seekers in finding this benchmark -- alternatively, one can use the gallery images for any future attempt at actual recovery. The range marker is very close to the Texas City dike's edge, and can therefore be well observed and measured.
