In Canton, on the wall of the Canton Viaduct, is this survey disk, designated F31 on the disk and MY0489 in the NGS datasheet.
The Canton Viaduct is near the intersection of I-93 and Neponset Street. From I-93, take the east exit onto Neponset Street toward Canton. Keep driving straight to the Canton Viaduct straight ahead. Park in the lot just before a dam. From there, follow the sidewalk along the viaduct to the intersection where Neponset Street and Walpole Street meet. From there, look toward the viaduct where a pillar divides the lanes of traffic through the viaduct.
The following is from the datasheet:
AT CANTON, ALONG NEPONSET STREET AT THE VIADUCT WHERE THE STREET
CROSSES UNDER THE NEW YORK, NEW HAVEN AND HARTFORD RAILROAD,
ABOUT 0.3 MILE SOUTH OF THE CANTON JUNCTION STATION, SET
VERTICALLY IN THE WEST FACE OF THE CONCRETE PORTION OF THE
CENTER PIER OF THE STONE VIADUCT, 10 1/2 FEET SOUTH OF THE
CENTER LINE OF THE NORTH LANE OF NEPONSET STREET, 17 1/2 FEET
NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE SOUTH LANE AND ABOUT 1 1/2
FEET ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE NORTH LANE OF NEPONSET STREET.
