"Pumpkin Patch
"These pumpkins were carved as symbols of our past, the Snowy River flats once grew huge pumpkins. When the river flowed, pumpkins had been carved out and children could float down stream, five at a time inside the pumpkins.
"Sculptor Ruth Hanson co-ordinated the wooden sculptures and showed her wood carving skills, giving guidance and encouragement to 9 volunteer artists.
"Thanks to volunteer carvers: Therese Shead, Trina Wilmot, Natalie Evans, Janette Trewin, Lisa Thompson, Cheryl Stevenson, Linda Priest, Mary McDonald.
Department Nature Recreation & Environment donated a variety of East Gippsland hardwood blocks to sculpt, the timbers used were Red and Yellow Box, Mountain Grey Gum, Silver Top, and Stringy Bark.
