The Wewoka Post Office is located at 115 W. 2nd Street. This one-story red brick building was constructed in 1935 under a Treasury Department program. It contains one of the beautiful WPA murals in the lobby. A post office was first established in Wewoka on May 13, 1867.

Wewoka has a long and interesting history. First settled in 1849, Wewoka was officially founded in 1866, and platted in 1897. It is currently the County Seat of Seminole County, and the tribal capital of the Seminole Nation. In 1923, oil was discovered nearby and during the years 1925-1927, Wewoka's population rose from 1500 to 20,000. Today, the town has approximately 3450 residents.

The post office counter is open Mon-Fri: 8:00-4:30 and Sat: 8:00-10:00. Lobby hours for P.O. boxes are Mon-Sat: 24 hours. The building is closed on Sundays.
