This artwork is a large bench surfaced in colorful ceramic and glass tiles. The artists saw the commission as a way to involve the disabled clientele of McBeth Recreation Center in an active, participatory way, and collaborated with program participants to make flower designs for the mosaic.
The Reading Chair features a quote from “Air the Trees” by Larry Eigner, a poet severely palsied from birth.
