Ce pont fut bâti par la compagnie Chemin de fer Intercolonial créée en 1872 et rachetée en 1918 par le Canadien National.
Cette compagnie fut créée afin de relier les provinces maritimes avec le Québec.
This bridge was built by the Intercolonial Railway Company, founded in 1872 and bought in 1918 by the Canadian National.
This company was created to connect the maritime provinces with Quebec.
L'inauguration du tronçon Trois-Pistoles/Ste Flavie est célébrée le 2 août 1873 par Mgr Jean Langevin, évêque de Rimouski.
