This plaque was placed in 1976 at a tree planted in the Chattanooga National Cemetery in honor of the bicentennial of the United States.

In 2017 the tree has been replaced with a different tree, but the plaque remains as a memorial and a Bicentennial memento. The plaque reads as follows:

"This tree dedicated by the Veteran's Administration in 1976 to America's Medal of Honor Recipients who helped make the bicentennial observance possible "by gallantry above and beyond the call of duty.""
Location of the tree: Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga TN

Type of tree: Red Oak
