Une première chapelle y fut construite en cette même année 1700.
C'est en 1700 que les Abénaquis, sous la direction des RR.PP. Jésuites, allèrent s'établir sur les bords de la rivière Saint-François à 2 lieues de son embouchure, dans le lac Saint-Pierre.
A first chapel was built there in the same year 1700.
It was in 1700 that the Abenakis, under the direction of RR.PP. Jesuits, settled on the banks of the St. Francis River, two leagues from its mouth, in Lake St. Pierre.
