The Pontifical Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua (Basilica Pontificia di Sant'Antonio di Padova) is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica in Padua Northern Italy, dedicated to St. Anthony. The basilica is known locally as "il Santo". It is one of the eight international shrines recognized by the Holy See.
The stamp depicting the Basilica was issued on March 3rd, 1931 by Italian Post as a part of series of 6th stamps issued on the occasion of 7th centenary of the death of Saint Anthony of Padua. Just the chin and tongue of St. Anthony are displayed in a gold reliquary at the Basilica.
