Near Lewiston, within the Emiquon Lakeside Observatory, is this stainless steel sculpture with cutouts of 15 birds with text identifying them.

The turnoff is south of the intersection of Illinos Route 9 and a few miles south of the intersection U.S. Route 24. It is on the east side of the road. There is a sign at the road and further down is a sign with "The Nature Conservancy" below the name, "Emiquon Lakeside Observatory."

From the parking lot, you can walk on the long boardwalk to a junction where there is an observation deck and the kiosk to the right. You also may be able to drive to pier on the north side and walk south from there to the location.

The kiosk is a shelter with an angled roof. Underneath is a long display that it titled, "Teaming with Life." The display has pictures and text related to subjects listed: "Restoring Emiquon," "Bottomland Forest," "Wet Prairie," "Mudflats," and "Wetlands."

From the kiosk, you have a panoramic view of the lake, with water in all directions to see the birds and other life in the area. From the observation deck nearby, you can from a higher point.
