Marienkapelle was first built in 1685. However, it was damaged during the 30-Years War. The current building was built in 1722 and part of the ceiling and some of the older decorations are from the original building. When this was built, it was presumably in a field, but as Mühlhausen grew, the chapel now stands at the edge of the village by a main road with a large business across from it.
