The Mitre, on the High Street, Shaftesbury, next door to St Peter's church. It is popular for good quality food at reasonable prices. The patio at the rear of the pub has excellent views.

The sign outside shows a bishops mitre (visit link) , with a representation of a stained glass window on it.
There is also a wrought iron sign with a mitre on the pub nearer to the church.
