This railroad depot was built in 1854 for the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad, the first depot built by the company. The depot had additions added in 1868. The depot was used as a passenger depot until 1943 and then served as a freight depot until 1966. The depot was moved to its present location in 1973, the move was about 9 blocks from across the river. The building was renovated at that time and now serves as the Batavia Depot Museum.
