Campground at Hayes Lake State Park.
35 drive-in sites are available. Half of the sites in this campground have electric hookup.
There are also 2 walk-in sites, about a block from parking. And there is a group camp site.
All sites have a picnic table and fire ring. Drinking water is available in two places in the main campground. A building with handicapped-accessible modern restrooms and showers is available for campers. There is also a latrine.
Sites with electricity can easily accommodate a popup or RV. Non-electric sites vary in size; some have enough room for two small tents. Only two sites (14 and 15), both electric, have a view of the lake through the trees. The inside end of the larger loop closest to the lake is somewhat open; elsewhere the tall trees provide privacy between sites.
The rate is $15 per night. Add $8 for sites with electric hookup.
You will also need a state park vehicle permit. Good at any Minnesota state park, vehicle permits cost $7 per day or $35 for a year.
