With a 'tentacle span' easily of 5 metres, this 'guy would normally be quite scary for having an encounter with it. But it has been made, and painted so that its eyes are almost taking a welcoming look at the approaching visitor to the Museum.
Without being able to have a close look at it, I can only assume that it is made from reinforced concrete, and supported by its further two tentacles that would be behind it.
As there is a smallish Aquarium in the Museum, you may see a real-life octopus, but it won't be anywhere near the size of this one.
