Sidney Baptist Church traces its roots to 1829. The congregation was formed as this area was settled and transformed into agricultural uses. Some members traced their beginnings to the teachings of Asa Turner a Baptist Minister who was instrumental in establishing a Baptist presence in eastern Ontario in the early 19th century.
The present brick and wood church was built in 1879, replacing a succession of previous wooden churches.
It is still in use.
Services are Sundays at 1030.
