Luigi Pellanda was born in 1885 and became priest in 1908. He had broad interests and was in his youth a pioneer of motorcycling, the educational use of cinema, but also a scholar of Gregorian chant, the era of Pope Innocent IX and local history of the Ossola area.
He was the Archpriest of Domodossola during World War II and the Republic of Ossola. Ha acted as mediator between the Nazis and the partisans and his book "ossola in the Storm" is one of the most important sources for reconstructing the history of this period. He died in 1961 in Domodossola.

Luigi Pellanda è nato nel 1885 ed è diventato sacerdote nel 1908. Ha avuto vasti interessi ed è stato in gioventù un pioniere del motociclismo, l'uso didattico del cinema, ma anche uno studioso del canto gregoriano, l'epoca di papa Innocenzo IX e la storia locale del'Ossola.
Era l'arciprete di Domodossola durante la seconda guerra mondiale e la Repubblica di Ossola. Ha ponendosi come mediatore tra i nazifascisti e i partigiani e il suo libro "ossola nella tempesta" è una delle fonti più importanti per ricostruire la storia di questo periodo. Morì nel 1961 a Domodossola.
