EN: This noon mark type sundial is mounted at the right corner of the main facade of the church dei Santi Gervasio e Protasio in the old town of Domodossola.
A marker that is mounted below explains in Italian how it is used and has some history. The sundial was mounted after the second rebuilding of the church in 1792 (original around 900, a second building from 1450). A traditional sundial had been at the unfinished main facade, until it was finally completed in 1954.
