Local chainsaw artist John Brady has used one of the remaining pine stumps from when 26 Monterey Cypress pines were planted in 1924 to honour the local soldiers that were Killed In Action in 'the Great War'. In the 1990's some had already succumbed to forces of nature, or disease, and six were chosen to perpetuate the memory of those killed and injured in wars (in particular, World War One).
Like each of the sculptures, this has a sign near it that states:
"These Sculptures Honour the Memory of First World War Dead and Injured
Please treat them with respect
Lakes Entrance R S L"
As this is a part of a local Multi-Geocache, I will only tell you that it was carved in 1998; and you will have to visit it yourself to find out the month.
the website link (Monuments Australia) is for the 'Avenue' of x 6 sculptures.
