The St. Louis and Southwestern Railroad - known as the "Cotton Belt" - came to Sherman in 1887. This pretty brick depot was completed in 1888.

This depot holds the honor of being the oldest surviving train station in Texas. It was the terminus on the Cotton Belt's Commerce to Sherman Branch.

The last passenger service were Mixed Trains 217/218 which were discontinued on September 25-26, 1953.

The Depot is currently owned by Royal Case, Inc.
