Barkers Warehouse was built in the Victorian Georgian style in 1854 at the time when Guildford was an important river port. The warehouse is the only remaining building of a store, warehouse and house complex that once stood on this site, the building still has the loading hoist above an upper door facing Meadow Street. The warehouse has two floors plus a cellar, which is still used for storing wine.
