Right in the middle of Nicholson Street is the War Memorial Tower and Clock.

I would think that the original plaque is the grey marble plaque, being the lowest, on the north side, which reads:


   "In Memory of
Our Fallen Comrades
  1914  - 1918
   1939--1945"
[Probably added later]

The other six plaques on the northern side seem to be of 'the same vintage' and design. From the top left, going down, the plaques commemorate: Boer War, First World War, Second World War; Malayan Emergency and Indonesian Confrontation, Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

Description of Memorial:
A caramel coloured rendered tower, with a curved top, and two plain clock faces [to the north and south]. There is a 'half-sized' statue of a soldier on each side of the tower.
