In Pekin, along Elizabeth Street, is the Masonic Temple building for Empire Lodge No. 126.
The building is located across the street from the Tazewell County Courthouse and is on the south side of the road. The building is a three story structure, with brick face on most of the front, and sandstone on the lowest part and around the door. There is a cornerstone on the left side (when facing the front), with the date, July 2, 1931 inscribed, and other text such as the Grandmaster at the time. Over the door is a sign that includes the emblems of Freemasonry, York Rite, Scottish Rite, and the Order of Eastern Star.
Empire Lodge is an active lodge, judging from their Facebook page. They meet on the first Thursday of the month. They are a lodge of the Grand Lodge of A.F. & A.M. of the State of Illinois.
