In the Ohlsdorf cemetery in the Ohlsdorf district of Hamburg, this honor facility for firefighters is located.
On this square was formerly a sand cowle of the village Ohlsdorf. It was begun 1953 with the establishment of this burial field. The pillar in the middle is 2.40 m high. It represents a blazing flame.

One example of firefighters buried here:
On 4.6.1938, a Whitsun day, the fire broke out in a roofing factory in the Holstentwiete. In the upper storey tar and benzine water were stored. They exploded during firefighting. Four firefighters (Harenberg, Jänichen, Ponto and Ulrich) were spilled, suffered severe fire injuries and died as a result. Other firemen were injured. Three of these four firefighters lie in the outer circle of this tomb, for instance, in the area of yellow-flowered flowers. They died on 4 June 1938.
