It is not directly acknowledged as being of John Simpson (Fitzgerald) of the "Simpson and donkey" lore, but it does certainly represent the work of Medics in 'the Great War' at Gallipoli.
John Brady has used one of the pine stumps that had been planted in 1924 to honour the 26 local soldiers that died in the action of World War One.
Like each of the sculptures, there is an obvious sign (and a camouflaged one), which reads:
"These Sculptures honour The Memory of First World War Dead And Injured.
Please treat them with RESPECT.
Lakes Entrance RSL"
As this is included in a local Multi-Geocache, you will have to visit it in person to find out the month in 1998 that it was carved.
