Anthony Kenneth Ross died as the result of a motor vehicle accident, as reported in the The Canberra Times on 25 January 1971. The article states:
Thirteen die on NSW roads during weekend, the worst weekend toll on State roads this year.
At Cullerin, 10 miles north of Gunning, a driver and two passengers died when their car crashed into a truck driven by Mr John Brenton, of Randwick.
Champion cyclist
The dead driver was Mr Alan Meyer, 18 of Goulburn. Mr Meyer was the Australian junior professional cycling champion of 1969 and 1970. The passengers who died with him were Mr Anthony Kenneth Ross, 18, and Mr Geoffrey Lawrence Shepherd, 18, both of Goulburn.
Mr. Ross is buried in Goulburn Cemetery beside Jeffrey Shepherd.
