His death was reported in the Goulburn Evening Penny Post on 18 April 1922. The actual article is creased so the digital reproduction is difficult to decipher however my interpretation is:

CUT TO PIECES

Goulburn Lads Shocking Death

Railway Fatality at Barmedman

A shocking death awaited Edwin Stanley Nelson. A Goulburn youth, upon his arrival at Barmedman (between Temora and Wyalong), on Monday morning. Only the barest details of the fatality are available, but it is stated that he fell beneath the train whilst alighting and was cut to pieces, death being instantaneous.

The deceased was nineteen years of age, and the second son of Mr. and Mrs Harry Nelson, of Shepherd street. He was well known in this city, where he was popularly known as "Don." He took a keen interest in sport, and was both a footballer and a boxer.

Young Nelson was employed at the local flour mill. Recently he was put off owing to slackness in the milling trade. Not being able to find suitable employment in Goulburn he and another lad left on Sunday night for Barmedman, where they hoped to be employed as platelayers on railway constructional work now in progress in that neighbourhood. It was the first occasion on which Don had gone so far from his home.

The article is reproduced in Trove Digitised Newspapers, National Library of Australia, the website listed below.
