This is one more of the six carvings by John Brady, from Monterey Cypress pines that had originally been planted in 1924 as an avenue in memory of the Dead, and Injured of the district. When the trees became diseased and in need of removal a plan was made to make them into another form for the memory of the 26 soldiers of the district that lost their lives.
