The chimney stands slightly apart from the mill itself and next to a small aqueduct which carries the canal over a small stream called Eller Beck.

A nearby plaque has the following information.
Victoria Mill adjacent to the aqueduct was originally a corn mill built by William Wilkinson in 1847. It was a highly mechanised and steam powered mill which produced animal feed stuffs, flour and probably supplied the brewery trade. In the late 19th Century it was taken over by Tom Lumb, a paper manufacturer. After remaining empty for many years the mill was converted into flats in 1990.
