Along the Meeting of the Great Rivers National Scenic Byway is the village of Grafton.
Grafton is along Illinois Route 100, and is the location of a ferry across the merging Illinois and Mississippi Rivers.
Grafton is a small village of about 700 people, which is less than the almost 1000 people here before the flood of 1993. The waymark is at a parking area where there is a structure resembling a lighthouse, and near the ferry landing. On the north side of Route 100 is the downtown area of Grafton, which is surrounded by bluffs.
Grafton once had a factory and a boatworks. The manufactury stopped around 1900, while the boatworks stopped in the 1970s. Today, a market at the location. Near Grafton is Pere Marquette State park.
