In Grafton, along Illinois Route 100, is the Pere Marquetts State Park, listed along the Meeting of the Great Rivers National Scenic Byway.
The park is located a few miles northwest of Grafton. The visitor center is on the right.
On the web site for the Meeting of the Great Rivers Scenic Byway, Pere Marquette is the last stop, at the west end of the drive, marker 18 on their map.
The visitor center has several displays about the geology, nature, and history of the area. There is also a 3-D map that shows the terrain surrounding where the Illinois River merges with the Mississippi River.
The park has over 8000 acres set along the Illinois River and along the northern and eastern bluffs. A network of trails cross through and provide great views of the Illinois River.
