FR: Une chapelle tout juste centenaire.
Comme il n'existait pas de passerelle entre le quartier de Gourmalon et le bourg de Pornic, les paroissiens de Gourmalon avaient grand mal à se rendre à l'église. Ils eurent l'idée de bâtir une chapelle contre l'avis du Clergé. La chapelle de Gourmalon de Pornic fut inaugurée le 1 mars 1909.
Le syndicat des propriétaires de Gourmalon créé en 1873, décide d'entreprendre la construction de la chapelle malgré l'opposition du clergé. La chapelle est finalement construite et entièrement financée par les habitants de Gourmalon.
Inaugurée le 1er mars 1909, elle n'est donc pas comprise dans l'inventaire des biens confisqués au moment de la séparation de l'Etat et de l'Eglise, et reste donc à la charge entière de la paroisse de Pornic. Il ne reste plus qu'à obtenir la nomination d'un desservant mais la paroisse s'y refuse. Face à cette obstination, les résidants de Gourmalon font appel à Rome qui décidera finalement l'ouverture d'un lieu de culte catholique dans cette chapelle.

EN: A chapel just centenary.
Since there was no bridge between the Gourmalon district and the village of Pornic, the parishioners of Gourmalon had great difficulty in reaching the church. They had the idea of ??building a chapel against the advice of the clergy. The chapel of Gourmalon of Pornic was inaugurated the 1 of March of 1909.
The Gourmalon owners' union created in 1873, decided to undertake the construction of the chapel despite opposition from the clergy. The chapel is finally built and entirely financed by the inhabitants of Gourmalon.
Inaugurated on March 1, 1909, it is not included in the inventory of property confiscated at the time of the separation of the State and the Church, and therefore remains in the charge of the parish of Pornic. It only remains to obtain the appointment of a servant but the parish refuses. Faced with this obstinacy, the residents of Gourmalon appealed to Rome which finally decided to open a place of Catholic worship in this chapel.
