Memorial plaque & grave marker dedicated to Captain N Weatherby Hill M.C. who fell in action on the Somme, 1917.

A brass plaque with curved top set within a smooth stone surround with an inscription below a crest. The memorial is placed above a second memorial (grave marker with plaque), and both memorials are fixed into an inset arch of exposed brickwork.

The inscription reads:
Motto with crest: LABOR OMNIA VINCIT
TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND/ IN PROUD AND LOVING MEMORY OF/ NICHOLAS WEATHERBY HILL MC CAPTN/ 2ND BATTN OXFORD AND BUCKS LIGHT INFANTRY/ BORN AT WEEKE NEAR WINCHESTER AUGUST 7TH/ 1896 WHO FELL IN ACTION ON THE SOMME/ ON THE NIGHT OF JANUARY 16 1917 AND LIES/ IN THE MILITARY CEMETERY AT COURCELETTE/ FRANCE.

Below this plaque is a Wooden battlefield cross with an etching of regimental insiginia (bugle) and inscription below a smaller brass plaque.

This inscription reads:

Cross:IN/ MEMORY/ OF/ CAPT. N.W. HILL M.C./ 52ND LT. INFTY./ KILLED/ IN/ ACTION/ 16.1.'17
Plaque: THE WOOD CROSS BELOW MARKED HIS GRAVE UNTIL/ REPLACED BY A PERMANENT HEADSTONE/ AND WAS MADE AND ERECTED BY THE REGIMENT/ TO HIS MEMORY.
