Carved in 1999, "This sculpture honours the families of those that fought and died in WW1." Please treat it with respect.
This stump is one of 26 pine trees planted in 1924 to honour the soldiers of Lakes Entrance that died in The Great War. By the 1990's some were diseased and even removed for safety sake, and the local chainsaw artist John Brady stepped in to create a period scene of a mother, children, and their Kelpie dog waiting for Dad to come back from the war.
This one has been set up on a concrete slab.
