In Peoria, along Riverfront Park, is the Military Services Memorial Plaza.

The plaza is located along a paved pedestrian path by the river shore, and is about a hundred feet from the pillar for the I-74 bridge.

The plaza is semi-circular in shape and has a flag near the focus of the semi-circle. The flag is half-surrounded by five dark pillars, each with an emblem of a branch of the military. Surrounding this are stone and bronze plaques embedded in the ground and on a wall toward the back.
