The Charles B. Goddard Center has a beautiful sculpture garden alongside its building, which is a Centennial project for Oklahoma Statehood. Planted in this garden, among the sculptures is this oak tree, planted "In memory of Elsye Ve Dunlap Van Eaton". (A tree dedicated to her daughter, Ellen Gillespie, stands nearby).

Elsye Van Eaton passed away November 4, 2006. She was married to Charles W. Van Eaton III, a World War II veteran. They raised their family and were active in local Ardmore endeavors.
