Auf dem Dach der Volksschule Ober-Laaer-Platz 1 befindet sich eine Sirene vom Typ HLS. Laut der Sirenenstandorteliste handelt es sich um die Sirene "X/09/94" (X für den 10. Bezirk, 09 für die 9. Sirene in diesem Bezirk und 94 für das Baujahr 1994).
Die Sirenen in Wien hört man 1x jährlich und zwar beim Probealarm, jeweils am ersten Samstag im Oktober. Dabei wird 15 Sekunden lang ein Dauerton abgespielt.
Im Alarmfall gibt es 3 verschiedene Signale:
Warnung: Drei Minuten gleich bleibender Dauerton - Herannahende Gefahr!
Alarm: Eine Minute auf- und abschwellender Heulton - Gefahr!
Entwarnung: Eine Minute gleichbleibender Dauerton - Ende der Gefahr!

On the roof of the elementary school Ober-Laaer-Platz 1 is a siren of the HLS type. According to the list of siren locations, the siren is "X/09/94" (X for the 10th district, 09 for the ninth siren in this district and 94 for the year of construction 1994).
The sirens in Vienna can be heard once a year, in the case of the practice alarm, on the first Saturday of October. A continuous tone is played for 15 seconds.
