Originally built in 1840 as the town's beer cellar, it was used to keep the beer cold before modern refrigeration. In 1945, it was used as the town's bomb shelter due to WWII. It was renovated and care taken over by the local fruit and vegetable club, in 1990. To this day it is used by the club for storage.
