Renatus A. Hastings married Annie Georgia Gegenworth on October 25,1881.

He was originally from Maryland.Came to Texas after a cattle drive from Kansas in the early days and was a blacksmith here in a building behind the present location of Zeiner's Humble station.

R.A. Hastings died coming to Texas on a cattle trail.

His wifes obituary states the death year is 1930.
